Donegal Ireland Calendar and a Close Shave in the Adirondacks

The 3rd Annual Adirondack Donegal Beard Contest

For the 3rd Annual Adirondack Donegal Beard Contestants are preparing to shave their facial hair on New Year's Day in anticipation of growing their Donegal Beard for judging on St Patrick's Day 2011. Newcomers are welcome to take part in the event, which is free and open to the public.

The Donegal Beard is an Irish-style beard that grows along the jaw line and covers the chin. Contestants must be clean shaven on January 1st and grow a Donegal Beard by St. Patrick’s Day March 17th. On Saint Patrick’s Day all beards should conform to the Donegal standard.

The contest will be held on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, at Basil and Wicks, formerly Casey's North, on Route 28 in North Creek, NY. Prizes will be awarded for the best beards. So even if it's a competition you won't be participating then it's something interesting to visit on St Patrick's Day.

In the Beautiful Donegal, Ireland, 2011 Calendar above the photographs are by Fiona who says "Beautiful scenery and landscapes of County Donegal,Ireland. Throughout the year Donegal is a picture of wild beauty. Buy this calendar and enjoy it for yourself "
