Claddagh Heart Save The Date Magnet

A Gold Claddagh Heart and Hands On A Save The Date Magnet

Claddaghs continue to be worn, primarily by those of Irish heritage, as both a cultural symbol and as engagement and as wedding rings. With increasing popularity the Claddagh heart has also been represented on a range of gifts for couples as this Save The Date magnet shows.

Claddagh rings have made notable appearances at celebrity weddings. At their Celtic Pagan handfasting, Irish/Scottish American musician Jim Morrison of The Doors and Irish American author Patricia Kennealy-Morrison exchanged claddagh rings. A picture of the rings was included on the cover of Kennealy-Morrison's memoirs, Strange Days: My Life With and Without Jim Morrison.

Claddagh rings have also appeared in literature. Here's a puzzle for you. In which James Bond novel did someone wear a Claddagh Ring? Who was she? I'll publish the answer in the last of this Claddagh series posts in a couple of days.
